TROPHIES and CUPS
Trophies are awarded by the March Club
to the best cycles and or rider(s) in this best costumes. The
list of the trophies awarded to the riders by the March club is
given below. The taking part is the main thing, but winning a
cups is always nice.
TONY FIELDING TROPHY
This trophy being given for the best cycle
in its original condition with a costumed rider. The cycle being
PRE 1900.
THE BEDFORD CUP
This cup being given for the best restored
cycle 1900 to 1930 and a costumed rider in the right costume for
the cycle.
CN MACK CUP
This cup being given for the best
cycle and a costumed rider under 16 on the day of the rally.
POPPLE SHIELD
This shield being given for the
best cycle propelled by more than one rider who are in costume.
CHILVERS ORDINARY TROPHY
This trophy being given for the
best best turned out ordinary and a costumed rider.
THE FRANK LACEY TROPHY
This trophy being given for the
most meritorious ride of the course on the day.
THE ROBERT GARDENER TROPHY
This trophy being given for the
best turned out lady and cycle by a March club member.
KATHLEEN CRONE MEMORIAL TROPHY
(LADY)
This trophy being given for the
best turned out lady
KATHLEEN CRONE MEMORIAL TROPHY(GENT)
This trophy being given for the
best turned out man.
Colin Bedford was 65 this year
and a presentation was made of a engraved glass tanker to him.
