The sample IM2000 implementation for Unix

This is the sample IM2000 implementation for Unix. For OS/2 IM2000 softwares, see the Internet Utilities.

This is just a sample implementation. It's very basic. There are a lot of things that one can do better in a real implementation, such as

use a different, better, message store;
use a different, better, notification store;
decouple the MSRAP and MSOAP service daemons from direct access to the message store;
provide handy service configuration utilities; and
combine the two MUAs into one.

This isn't anywhere near finished, yet. I've only just completed the specification. Give me a chance. Good grief.

This is the compressed TAR archive of the current version.

Installation

I've decided to package the software using /package with its documentation in /doc format.

There is no assigned name for this package yet. This may not even end up being IM2000 at the end of the day. And I want to have something more concrete than just a design before I get serious about the packaging.

I don't own im2000.org.. Roger Merchberger currently does (after a long period of the domain name lying fallow). The /doc/host/im2000.org documentation root and the /package/host/im2000.org package root are used with his kind, albeit tacit, permission.
