The Avenue Littlestone Road The mile-long road between New Romney and Littlestone is known locally as "The Avenue". The northern section, Station Road, was originally named Gun Lane. The southern section, Littlestone Road, was laid out in the 1880s by H.T. Tubbs. Many of the elm trees which he planted had to be felled in 1981-2 after contracting Dutch elm disease. Some have been replaced by flowering cherries and rowans. Links None
