Ship Hotel
High Street

The original Ship Hotel dates from about 1492. The present building was constructed on earlier foundations.

Below ground were tunnels used by smugglers to hide their contraband, but these are now blocked off.

For a period during the 20th century the Ship housed a cinema, until it moved to the Assembly Rooms in Church Approach.
