Manx trip September 1999

One of only 6 XK-SS cars in existenceThere were something like 150 cars on the JEC's trip to to the Isle of Man in September 1999, covering most ages of Jaguar.  They included one of only 6 XK-SS sports cars (brought over by the JDHT specially), and one XK flow over from the US.  Events included a reception, a tour of the island, a hill climb up Snæfell (the police closed the roads specially), and track driving on the old Jurby airfield.

Whilst not on the region's calendar, a few members went .  A generally excellent affair with a very interesting location, though the weather left a lot to be desired, as this drenched marshall shows.  And the next picture shows the sheltered waters of the "seaside" at Douglas:
