| Arthur Wolstenholme, managing director of Ronart Cars, gave us an insight
into the history of his company and its products.
The first product, the W152 car, he prefers to describe as "available
for the enthusiast in component form" rather than "kit car". Whatever,
it's a well-respected sports car in the tradition of the post war Mercedes
and similar "cycle wing" sports cars (looking rather like one of HWM's
jaguar-powered racers), with Jaguar engine and suspension. At the
recent JEC day at the Santa Pod drag strip, a Ronart (albeit with a race-tuned
V12) beat all comers apart from out-and-out dragsters.
His now product, the Lightening, will be a sports car with a shape with
similar inspiration to the Jaguar XK-180, to be sold ready-built.
