What Calisto will do
Calisto is a free. The latest version will run under W95, W98, NT, XP etc. A DOS version is available which will run under DOS, Windows 3.1 etc.
The main window displays:
1 - 2999 the English calendar
326 - 2999 Easter day
1154 - 1751 illustrates 1668/9 style dates (ie old New Years Day)
1066 - 1964 shows the English regnal year - monarch's name, accession date and year number
827 - 1065 shows the English monarch's name
The Comparator displays:
1 - 2999 compares any English date with
dates in many other European countries
Jewish dates
Julian and Gregorian dates
622 - 2999 compares any English date with that in the Moslem calendar
1 - 2999 shows the Julian day number and the current date in Roman form
Other Secondary windows display
Moveable feasts in the English church
Important saints' days and other traditional named days in alphabetical and chronological order
English/British monarchs with the years of their reigns and their accession dates - in both alphabetical
and chronological order
The Seek window lists particular date combinations - eg a list of years in which 5th November fell on a Tuesday
Date calculator - the difference between two given dates - as years, months, weeks and/or days.
Date calculator - calculates the date a number of days, weeks etc before or after a given date
