Described from the top:
1665/1666 tells us that
old new year's day 25th March was still in use, with days before this falling in 1665 and those after
in 1666. You are reminded of this by the use of different colours.
The dropdown box at top right shows that the
calendar for England and Wales is displayed - there are nine other
countries to choose from.
15th April is Easter day and shown in red.
Calisto displays all Easters after AD 326.
Clicking on a date in Calisto 'drills down' and
opens the Comparator window which gives more information
about that month of the year.

At this time regnal years were often used to
date documents. 17:18 Charles II (30 Jan) tells us that days before 30th January are in the 17th year
of the king's reign - those after in the 18th. Charles I was beheaded on 30th January.
Julian in red indicates that the Julian calendar
is in use.
