"D.I.Y." is traditionally the husband's (or man's) job or hobby at home, a kind of boy's version of Home Economics. Well, although I do believe that men and women have different roles, etc., I'm not one to stand on mere "convention", so I won't be making any subjects exclusive to my sons or daughters. Like Home Economics and Survival Skills, I believe these "Life Skills" are useful - indeed, vital - for all to learn at least to a basic level. (In a way, being able to fix your car or bicycle is an extension of survival skills - ensuring that you get home safely for example. Having said that, however, you will see that I am using this page to include items which encourage teaching boys specifically to fulfill their potential future roles as husbands and fathers. You will find equivalent resources for traditional girls' subjects on the Home Economics page. DIY House: * Routine maintenance and
repairs * Emergency repairs * Painting * Decorating *
Plumbing * Electrics * Carpentry * Building: foundations,
brick-laying, roofing * Windows * Furniture-mending *
Safety * Tools * Husband & Father skills: * Finding & loving a wife * Leadership * Child training *
