I have been asked on many occations to describe the gear change selection. This can be quite hard to describe without pictures so find below some crude pictures of the isetta gearbox as viewd from overhead standing at the front of the car looking back. There are two linkage points each having 3 posible positions.

	Neutral
	Reverse
	First
	Second
	Third
	Fourth

Note that the smaller selector has a friction stop to prevent accidental selection of reverse gear. If this selector can move easiliy through all three positions check the ball bearing and spring which is accesible via a nut just above the selector arm.
This is accesible without removing the gearbox.
