This year the 1997 UK National Microcar rally was hosted by "The Bug Club" at Weston Park near Shifnal, Shropshire.
It's a two day weekend event, although most people exhibiting turn up Friday evening to set up camp and to hit the local bar.
Saturday started with a 44 mile Road Run and then a get together for a pint and a natter.
Sunday, The main rally started outside Weston Park House at 10am. Driving events organised by the "Micrmaniacs" started at 12 noon.
There was an autojumble and I managed to pick up some bits I need for my restoration. There was a raffle and at the end of the day prizes were awarded for the driving events and best car in each class.
Also on show were to kit car version of classic microcars. There was the "Zetta", a fibreglass copy of the Isetta 300 with modern running gear and honda 500cc engine. (Look at the pink Zetta below) Also this comapny produces in kit form a fibreglass version of the Messerschmitt Tiger.
The company can also provide fibreglass replacement parts for the original versions of these cars.
I left at 6:30am to drive up to the meeting on Sunday, arriving at 11am, the weather stayed dry and I had a great time.
