Dunrobin Castle

Dunrobin Castle is set in a fine park on a terrace overlooking the sea, north of Golspie on the eastern coast of Sutherland. The original castle was much smaller than the present buildings, considerable additions and restorations having taken place. The original square keep was built in the latter part of the thirteenth century, but the present façade is only a little more than a century old. The gardens are noted and the park contains a museum of local archaeological finds.
