The Space Patrol Episode Guide Notes: Welcome to our Episode Guide! Rather than trot out a detailed synopsis (go and buy the videos or DVD now!) with a few cursory notes, we tried to thread through a few things like notable quotes and oft repeated quirks and foibles of the series. Try it... you might like it! Synopsis: In a nutshell and without the ending - just in case you haven't seen it yet... Cast: Our stab at who voiced who, or what... And The Moral Is: Each episode had a strong moral theme (usually) so this is what it boiled down to.... give or take a liberty. Today I Will Be Mostly Learning... : And being educational too, this is what you might have learned from watching Space Patrol. Huskyisms: Despite his mastery of English, Husky still had a problem with certain phrases. His linguistic masterpieces feature here. Slimantics: Likewise, Slim’s command of the English language was a little unusual. Overpedantic, say we. Gabblings: As if that needed explaining... Raeburnt: The UGO Colonel’s wit and wisdom. “Don’t Call Me Pop!”: Haggerty’s wild and varied schemes and sayings... A Venusian Has...: The facility never to forget. And Marla never lets US forget that! Her little asides and escapades. To Coin A Phrase: “Of course! That’s it... “ Is This A Joke ?: Humour & disbelief ran riot in 2100. Are we joking ? We kid you not. The UGO Needs You: Bits we picked up about the United Galactic Organisation which may inspire you to join up... or not! ‘Riding Along In My Monobile... ‘: Paraphrasing a Chuck Berry song, we noticed Raeburn has something of a fetish for driving his monobile so we thought we’d log these trips and those of other people. ‘I’m An Alien!”: Quirks and foibles of the planetary denizens. Ooh, Bitch... : Moral it was but boy, did the put-downs fly... Continuity: Written entirely by Roberta Leigh, the series often referred to on-going events on various planets. Plot Device: Space Patrol regrettably fell into the rut of having an astounding invention or discovery help solve the problem of the week. In case it isn’t evident in the synopsis, here’s a re-cap... 2100 ?: Yes the show was produced on a shoestring budget in 1962 but wasn’t this supposed to be the future? Harmony For Strings: Being a puppet show, problems handling the characters sometimes got onto film. Here’s a few we spotted. And some that were better than average. Haven’t I Seen... ?: Produced on a limited budget, Space Patrol frequently re-used puppets, props and sometimes entire scenes! These are the ones we caught.
