Addenda - Gold Token Books ![]() The Gold Token books, of which Super-Mag was only one of several different series of comics and hardbacks, appeared to be introduced in early 1964. Issue 1 of Super-Mag (which was unnumbered and undated, shown left) featured Uncle Scrooge in an adventure called 'Lost Beneath The Sea' - a reprint of one of the Disney Gold Key comics from 1963.Edited, purportedly, by Walt Disney himself, the first issue introduces the new range: "Super-Mags are a great new idea. I especially like them because they allow me to bring to you complete stories from many of our real-life and cartoon films. And, best of all, they allow me to include stories of some of my favourite friends from Hollywood - like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. So watch out for all the many Super-Mag titles which will be coming your way very soon and be sure to tell your friends all about them." Super-Mag Comics Published by Young World Publications, a subsiduary of the Thomson Organisation Limited. 115 Bayham Street, London NW1 Printed in Belgium. Price: One Shilling (12 Old Pence)
Young World, as part of their Gold Token series, also published an Action Series comic line from the summer of 1964 featuring titles such as Secret Agent X9, Big Ben Bolt, Flash Gordon, Tim Tyler, Mandrake the Magician, Brick Bradford, Justice In The Underworld and Ripcord.
