Wedding Bouquets - Brides & Bridesmaids

Make Your Own DIY Bouquet For The Bride or Bridesmaid - From Silk or Real Flowers!

A Brides Bouquet, and the Brides-Maids Posy's, are the most important flowers at the wedding. I made all mine out of silk-flowers of the highest quality. Your flowers will become a treasured heir-loom, you will not be tossing them over your shoulder! (Have a spare bouquet for that!) Please contact us if you need help. It really is simple..

To make the bouquets, with your chosen flowers, start with your main flower. Holding the flower straight, add the next flower at a slight angle, hold together, bind with string, turn it about half way, add next flower at slight angle, bind with string, turn, and keep adding flowers and greenery in this way until you achieve what your required look.. Now, tie the string around all of the stems, binding them together, to secure them in place. Finish your design, with either ribbon or raffia wrapped around the stems.

Red Bouquet

You've got the stunning dress, and don't want to fall into the trap of having a large bouquet getting in the way. Go simple and pure. Choose a colour that compliments your dress, and make that statement!

Bridesmaids Posy

A simple posy for a brides-maid. Can be any colour you choose. Ribbons to match can be attached to the handle.

To make the posy, I bought a flower arrangement from a department store, which had twigs around the handle. I removed the twigs, then started on the flowers. I didn't like the colours of the flowers, so pulled them out, removing also the glue that held them in. (The centre of the arrangement is a polystyrene ball stuck on a plastic handle.) I replaced the flowers with the type I had chosen, gluing them into place with a hot-glue gun. It's easier if you put the glue into the hole in the polystyrene, then push the stem into the hole. I finished by binding the handle with ribbon to match the wedding theme.

Hanging Posy

A lovely hanging posy. Colours can be changed to match your wedding.

To make this hanging posy, it's as above, except that I removed the handle with a junior hacksaw, and wrapped ribbon around for the handle.

Confetti Posy

This is a basket full of rose-petal confetti for a flower girl. She can walk down the aisle, sprinkling them on the floor as she goes! These baskets are available from most good florists, and it is decorated with ribbon and a flower (wired onto the side) of your choice to match your wedding colours.
