The DIY Bride Can Save £s / $s (To Spend on Something Else!) By Making Her Own Flowers!
I made my button-holes and corsages out of the best silk flowers, match them to the wedding colours and then carefully bind them. You can use almost any greenery, and any flower, to make these beautiful button-holes and corsages. Put together whatever takes your fancy and bind with florists green tape. The advantage of silk is that they can be kept forever, won't give you hey-fever, and you won't have the embarrassment of your corsages wilting during the day! Remember, flowers wilt quickly when it's very hot, so silk is often best if you're travelling abroad, or we have a hot summer. If you have any questions about my flowers, contact us.
To make your own buttonholes and corsages: Choose your flowers and greenery that you are going to use, hold together with your fingertips of one hand, then use your other hand to bind them together with florists wire. Then completely bind the stems together with florists green tape. It really is that simple!
My personal favourite, a white rose with striking greenery. Colours, of course, can be changed to match your wedding colours.

A simple yet stunning design, the offset red rose complimenting the buttermilk rose perfectly. |
Why not use lilies of any sort, especially if the brides bouquet has them in? Again, colours can be matched to your wedding theme. This time I have bound it with ribbon. |
If you're bored with traditional flowers, why not opt for just greenery instead? A simple berry design highlights the button-hole. |
A carnation backed with ivy. Simple and effective, these go with any outfit. Change the colours to suit your wedding. |
