Wedding Vows

If You're Having A Civil Ceremony You've Still Got A Little Flexibility With Your Vows. Here's Ours:

Your Wedding Vows will be the most important words you say to each other on your Wedding Day, and it can be so difficult to chose the right words.

If you're getting married in England in a Civil Ceremony, you are also constrained by what you can say in law, as you mustn't have any religious connotations, but you do have a choice over what else you can say.

A good chat with your Registrar, (or vicar) will sort things out.

To help get you started we've included below the Wedding Vows we used in our Civil Ceremony.

Our Wedding Vows

1.Declaration Words

“I do solemnly declare that I know not of any lawful impediment why I                 may not be joined in matrimony to         .”

2.Ring Vows

Please accept this ring and with it all my heart.

“You are my world, my reason for being, my best friend and my endless love.”

“I,           take you               as my wife / husband. I vow to love you through the good times and through the bad, through the richer and through the poorer. You are everything I need, and at this moment I know that all my wishes have been answered and that all my dreams have come true. This is the moment I have waited my whole life for. I promise to give you my all and I know that I could not ask for more from you. I love you and always will. This is my solemn vow.

3.Contracting Words

“I call upon these persons here present to witness that I             do take thee              to be my lawful wedded wife / husband.”
