This is a table showing the number of adults listed in national phone lists grouped by postcode. It provides a general idea of the present concentrations of the family name and for many families in Britain this also reflects the general area where families lived for many generations. As you can see Yorkshire and Scotland are the most common with virtually none in Wales. This source does not include Northern Ireland but there are known to be a significant number there.
