What we offer Businesses &
Individuals
What we offer Charities & Community
Groups
What we offer Town & Parish Councils
At acara ACCOUNTANCY we mostly work
with local individuals, sole traders and smaller businesses seeking a personal
service from their accountant. Usually it’s about preparing your accounts to
meet your statutory obligations to Companies House or HM Revenue & Customs.
But it might also be one-time or temporary help:
setting up a cashbook in either a manual or
computerized system;
setting up and running a payroll;
income tax self-assessment;
a realistically costed business plan to secure a loan.
Whatever your needs, have a chat with us first. If we
can help you we will put things in place promptly and efficiently. If we cannot
help then we will tell you straight away and try to point you in the direction
of somebody who can.
A specialist area of acara ACCOUNTANCY is charity and
community accounting. We are highly experienced in the preparation and
independent examination of year-end accounts in line with the Charities Act, and
have worked with many local groups over a number of years.
We also offer a broad range of
support and training services tailored to the needs of community groups like
yours:
book-keeping - help setting up a manual or
computerized system;
training in relevant topics like budgeting, business
planning, understanding your accounts, managing your money, the trustees’
annual report, accounting for restricted funds, risk management, measuring
outcomes and many others;
we have delivered training workshops locally on full
cost recovery (some of the training materials and case studies used by ACEVO
were produced by us);
assistance with preparing grant applications of all
sizes (we have been a consultant via the SectorBuild scheme).
At acara ACCOUNTANCY we know exactly
what your council needs to help councillors fulfill their statutory obligations:
preparing accounts annually and having an internal audit of their controls.
Usually for a fixed fee we provide:
compliance checks on the council’s procedures and
controls with a report under section 4 of its annual return;
advice to the parish clerk about aspects that could be
improved;
compilation of financial statements for the council’s
approval.
Let us know a bit about your business and the support that you are
looking for. We will respond promptly and let you know how we can help you.
We are still in the early stages with our website so please bear with us
as we add to the information we make available on it. Bookmark our address and
visit us regularly to see what’s new.
An initial chat about your business costs nothing. Ring us either to
discuss your needs over the telephone or to arrange a meeting where we can talk
face-to-face about how we can help you.
