Child
Protection
As part of the overall club management strategy, we have in place a Child Protection Policy and a Club Welfare Officer (CWO). The CWO is responsible for monitoring how we liaise with our players and ensure that we comply with F.A. approved best practice, AS A MINIMUM.
BYFC aims to encourage young people to access, develop and enjoy their football activities in a safe and positive environment. The club takes Child Protection matters seriously and has indicated this by forming a Child Protection Best Practice Policy. The club strives to improve their policy by means of continual assessments carried out by our CWO, recommendations from the F.A. and by other bodies.
Any concerns about Child Protection issues, whether by managers, coaches, players or their parents should be raised promptly, no matter how incidental they may seem. This can be done by contacting your team manager, CWO or a member of the clubs’ committee. Any information received will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
Our CWO will make themselves known to all our teams throughout the season, by attending training sessions and matches on a random basis. These unannounced visits helps us to make sure that we as a club are following our own best practice principles, identify where we can improve upon them and offer support where needed.
But let’s remember the main reason why BYFC exists. It’s to enable our young people to enjoy the wonderful game of football.
