CLUB PRESENTATION NIGHT 2008

We held our fourth presentation night at the Ocean Rooms on Friday May 16th and we were pleased to see such a large turnout.  We would also like to express our gratitude and thank Joe Lewis for again presenting our trophies this year, for the third year in a row.  This young man played for England U21 against the Welsh at Wrexham on Thursday might, getting home at 2am and then honouring his commitment to our club by turning up tonight. 

Once again, Bohemians presented a 'squad' trophy to every player who pulled on our shirt and a Golden Boot trophy was an optional extra for team managers to reward their top goal scorer.  In addition to these every team had to nominate a squad member for the main trophies; players player, managers player and most improved player, and a Clubman Trophy.  In all, we had 365 trophies to present to our players and volunteers during the evening and our individual trophies for this year were awarded as follows:-

We have also awarded Silver Plates by way of thanks to three members of the club who deserve recognition for their efforts on behalf of Bohemians, Bradley Robinson, Lawrence King, and our 'Club Person' award which was presented to Matt Simm for all his work over the last four years.  In the words of one of his nominee's 'no Matt = no Boh's' 

Our team of the year trophy, the 'Irene Simm Memorial Cup', was awarded to our boys U11b team.  Having lost more games than they won at mini-soccer over the last 3 years, their first year at 11-a-side football saw them finish the season as league champions and gain promotion to division two.  The boys just piped last years winners, our all conquering girls U14's (who won everything again for the third straight year) and our boys U11a team.

We also had some appearance medals to dish out to our players this year.  Bronze Medals were awarded for making 50 appearances to Vialli Tozer, Ashley Goodrum, Jack butcher, Dan Gibb and Macauley Robinson.  Silver Medals, for 100 appearances, were awarded to Aston Jacobs, Henri Potter, Laura-Jane Scott, April Miller, Jess Vincent, Emma King, Sarah Hunter and Charlotte Eastwood.

Congratulations to all our trophy winners listed above, but in truth everyone deserves praise.

There were simply too many people to thank who were behind the scenes helping the event run smoothly, but special mention must go to Pete and Aidy for being our 'Masters of Ceremonies', Miranda and Bradley for manning the door, Paul and Jason for the squares board, David Eley for the Arsenal shirt raffle and of course, there's Matt who organised the whole thing, well done guys.
