What is Combat Jujitsu?
Combat Jujitsu is a hybrid sport which combines traditional Japanese Jujitsu, Submission Wrestling and modern Gracie style Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Combat Jujitsu is a complete Style in that it is well versed in stand-up fighting and in grappling. Combat Jujitsu is considered by many as the sport of the future!

What sort of training is covered in Combat Jujitsu?
Combat Jujitsu training consists of several exercises, traditional Japanese Jujitsu, Submission Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Techniques are drawn from all the various martial arts mentioned and favour no one style. However, the top fighters are usually the most versatile, able to kick, punch or grapple as the situation calls for. Most martial artists are drawn to Combat Jujitsu to learn the unique form of grappling often neglected in other systems. Takedowns combine Jujitsu with other wrestling throws. The ground work uses a variety of Gracie style Brazilian Jiu-jitsu joint locks against all parts of the body.

Is Combat Jujitsu safe and effective for women?
Because Combat Jujitsu was designed to be effective against a physically bigger and stronger individual, it is the ideal martial art for women. In the unfortunate event of a physical or sexual assault, a woman's attacker will likely be a male who is bigger and stronger. The male attacker will most certainly seek to control the woman, and pin her to the ground or against a wall. Since a woman is regularly exposed to these types of scenarios during class, and is often defending against men while training, she will have better control of her emotions and is less likely to be caught unprepared during a real assault. This makes Combat Jujitsu an ideal choice for women who seek REAL self-defence and rape-prevention training.

Are there private or more intense Combat Jujitsu sessions?
We offer private sessions, these cost slightly more, and need to booked at least a week in advance. To book a session please e-mail combatjujitsu@combatjujitsu.cjb.net
