Wires cannot touch one another inside and stop it working?
Finish/first impressions
Are the ends of the probes/external sensors neatly finished etc?
Does the lid fasten on easily?
Switches neatly, correctly and securely fastened in?
Is the circuit fastened down inside the box? With a screw or slide fitting?
Is the lid sanded to the same size/shape as the box below it?
Is your work clean?
Does it look like reception class children have painted it?
Circuits
PCB neatly produced on the computer - nice thick tracks?
No bare wires to be seen on plastic side of board?
All components neatly soldered in, none that are wobbly?
All wires twisted neatly as they go into circuit board?
PCBs neatly labelled?
Wiring
All wiring colour coded?
All pairs of wires twisted together neatly?
All wires cut to sensible length?
Casing/box
Does anything rattle when you shake the box?
Are the screw heads countersunk?
No splits or over sanded pieces?
No swiss roll marks from the sander?
LEDs
LED legs cut short inside the box so that they cannot short circuit?
LED legs insulated?
LEDs fastened in securely and neatly?
Power Supply
Has battery holder got its own compartment in the box?
Is the battery loose inside or does it have its own space?
Will you be able to say yes for every statement?
