Peter Cookson steps down as Chairman and also receives our prestigious BARBERSHOPPER OF THE YEAR Award
The Barbershopper of the Year Award is given by a democratic vote by all Club members for someone who has given outstanding service to the Club.
Some of the citations in favour of Peter were as follows
He has worked tirelessly to make our Club a great club and I am proud to be a member of this marvellous club
He is very committed to the Chorus
He has a great committment to the club as well as having a great musical knowledge
His leadership qualities have been excellent and his work effort for the club has been magnificent
Peter says that he was very touched to receive the BOTY Award, it commands a significant position within the Club and he feels very privileged to join the august collection of names on the Peter Rowe Memorial Trophy. He has been very proud to be Chairman of Reading Club over the past two years and to receive this award was an added bonus that meant a great deal to him.

At very short notice The Thames Valley Chorus were invited to take part in the finale of the Show to do a number with Robbie Williams on Christmas Eve.We sang a very amusing version of 'White Christmas'. It was a fantastic experience and we all worked very hard to bring a very polished performanve to the small screen
