Northern Ireland has some of the finest castles in the United Kingdom. The earliest are the echoes of a Norman legacy, but fortified homes and small tower castles continued well into the 17th century. Through centuries of war, siege and expansion, the coastline castles were Ireland's most formidable strongholds. We are currently visiting the Castles in Northern Ireland in an attempt to catalogue all paranormal/ spiritual events associated with each castle depending on their area and era. Many of these castles are state care monuments, and it is only through the gracious permission of the Built Heritage that we are able to include them in our study.
