Your paintings show amazing painstaking attention to detail and at their displayed size it’s easy to imagine that they are photographs.  Your colours are flawless and your composition is very strong with your subjects not traditionally posed, but observed.  Meaning, it’s more like how they would actually appear in nature in those very rare special moments rather then how they would appear in some studio setting.  In essence, you expertly offer tender glimpses into the beauty of nature. Carlos Cruz.

'Flight Feathers' mixed media giclee print, unframed. 670mm x 220mm. £38.00 + delivery.
Flight Feathers is a meticulously detailed giclee print of a Harris Hawk on a Saguaro cactus in its native desert environment. I have used gouache and watercolours to get the mix of clarity in the blue, and depth in the feather details. The eye of the hawk is fixed on whatever it has seen and the hawk has roused itself for flight. Does it go?

'Harris Hawks on Saguaro' original mixed media, 560mm x 420mm. £175.00 + delivery.
high quality original mixed media painting of a pair of hunting Harris Hawks. I discovered the other day, whilst flying a Harris hawk, that they stack on top of each other taking turns to be on top! Couldn't get that photo but got this pair instead. Maybe just before going to play pile-on.
'Mallards' mounted mixed media original, 300mm x 230mm. example.
Mallards is a detailed mixed media painting .The feather margins of the female stood out to me more than the colours of the males .
'Lapwing' mounted original watercolour, 300mm x 280mm. SOLD
Lapwing is a small watercolour done because of the colours that this species can show in the sun. I live near marshland and these birds are one of the first I learned to identify. They can be very hard to get a picture of, as soon as you approach they turn their backs to you and walk away.

'Snow burst' original watercolour, 220mm x 150mm. SOLD
Snow Burst is an experiment with salt crystals on a blue wash, just for the fun of it. I like the soft feel of the result against the sharpness of the snowy owls eyes.

'Ringwood' giclee print, 360mm x 300mm £30.00 + delivery.
Ringwood is a mixed media painting of a Bengali eagle owl from Liberty's Raptor and Reptile centre. The shimmering colours in the owls eye inspired me to paint this bird, I wanted to see if I could capture all the colours as well as the sensation of glowing light and shadow. the feathers were a challenge.

'Liberty' mounted mixed media original, 700mm x 570mm

SOLD

Liberty is the name of this female Alaskan bald eagle and she came as a complete surprise to me. I visited liberty's raptor and reptile centre on holiday and was captured by this bird the moment I set eyes on her. Kids were left to fend for themselves with their dad and Liberty and I spent some Quality time. All day. The flying shows at Liberty's are amazing, My husband held this bird on his arm and photographers are allowed in the flying field for a short time while the birds are flown towards you. This is a special place with special birds. Liberty is painted in a mixture of gouache and watercolour and I have portrayed her on the frozen banks of an Alaskan river as she would be in the wild. Bald Eagles spend much of their time on the ground near rivers and fishing from the sea and lakes. their main prey is Alaskan salmon and they can be seen flocking like crows during the salmon run.
