Your paintings show amazing painstaking attention to detail and at their
displayed size it’s easy to imagine that they are photographs. Your colours
are flawless and your composition is very strong with your subjects not
traditionally posed, but observed. Meaning, it’s more like how they
would actually appear in nature in those very rare special moments rather then
how they would appear in some studio setting. In essence, you expertly
offer tender glimpses into the beauty of nature.

Blue
is a watercolour and goache painting of my pet cat .He is a strange mix
of rare breeds and I hand reared him from two weeks old. The reason for
his name is the colour of his eyes, needless to say they changed to grey
gold. Blue once attacked five sheepdogs and won and had a Pit bull terrier
change its daily walk to avoid him. He didn't stay cute either. |

Rhododendron is a watercolour painting of a flower I saw at Bedgebury
Pinetum where I was surrounded by blooms from rhododendrons and azaleas.
the scent was amazing. This picture was painted to capture the
translucency of the petals as the light fell through them and I loved
the contrast of the speckling in the blossom throats. |

Glowing
is a watercolour and gouache painting of a male Pheasant. I got this
shot out of my moving car window as I headed onto my local bird reserve,
the sun was out and he appeared out of the grass, paused for a few
seconds then dived into the long grass on a river bank. I couldn't
resist doing a painting of the colours , they were so vibrant and
glowing. |
