FRANKIE

After a 60 year career in Music FRANKIE LAINE passed away peacefully on February 6th whilst in Hospital at San Diego. He has left behind a treasury of wonderful music so although he is no longer with us in the flesh, as far as his fans are concerned his recordings will keep his memory alive forever.
Following his peak period from 1947 –1960
Frankie continued to perform in theatres, stadiums and clubs around the world
and carried on recording whenever possible.
He bounced back in the late 1960’s when his recordings of I’LL TAKE CARE
OF YOUR CARES, YOU GAVE ME A MOUNTAIN hit the top half of the charts in the
USA. His return to the British stage in
1974 resulted in sell-out performances all over the UK and this continued right
up to his last tour here in 1988.
Frankie always considered his “Fans” as
“Friends” and hundreds of us have been made
Welcome at his San Diego Home. He has performed private concerts for the
Society Members whenever we have done full trips to the States and never
refused a request for photo or autograph.
Rest in Peace Frankie, we will never forget you
and your music will keep our memories alive forever.
