Paper Scores from the 1990s

I am in the process of scanning all of my old paper scores from the 1990s. Some of this stuff is juvenilia but some is mature composition. In the fullness of time, these scanned scores will be typed up into more usable digital formats such as the general MIDI format and the 'Sibelius' format for viewing via the 'Scorch' plug-in.

I am around halfway through scanning the scores and several of the important pieces of the mid-90s are already available to download in zipped JPEG format, including "Meritocracy" and "Miss the Lift", as well as the as yet unperformed "Trio Sonata in E", which was pretty much the pinnacle of the 'serial permutations' series of compositions from 95/96.

You can download all of the scanned and typed up scores as they are completed via The Internet Archive here.

"Sibelius Scorch" Scores

To view these digital music scores you will need to install the free plug-in from Sibelius Software. The links below take you direct to viewable/printable/playable scores. Please bear in mind that these pieces were not written for "fake" instruments (unlike many of my electronic pieces), so what you hear when you click 'play' is a digital approximation of what humans might play on real instruments. This is very unlikely to be a fully satisfying musical experience but may aid in following the score.

Al-Habashiya for piano solo (1996) is also available as a MIDI sequence and as a scanned score in JPEG format: pages one two and three.

Variations for violin and piano, 2005
Fairy Lights for piano solo, 1996
Encoretet for string quartet, 2004
