Bare Feet After 1966 there are a number of occasions when Paul is seen not wearing any shoes, or being barefoot, most promimently on the front cover to Abbey Road. It's believed that the 'bare foot' sign is significant because this is how the dead are buried. It is also apparently a Sicilian and Mafia symbol of death.
