The Open Palm

The infamous 'open palm' gesture suddenly starts to make an appearance after 1967 starts and whenever it does appear the gesture is always made over Paul's head.

But what does it mean? Well, the common misconception is that it's an Indian symbol for death but this is purely a myth. No such Indian sign exists. Also, the Beatles did not visit India until quite late on in 1967.

It has however been suggested that it is the hand gesture made by priests over a body to bless it before before it is inturred. This would make more sense and would be more believable than an Indian hand sign.
