Statues (Page 1)

As statues are three-dimensional,  a single view isn't enough to
allow us to fully appreciate the work.  Walking round a statue is
ideal,  but we can't all do that.  Presenting two or more views in
a combined graphic is the best substitute I can offer.   Some  of
these combinations have required overlapping, colour changes,
repainting,  clutter removal and plenty of fiddling about.  Enjoy.

Alfred Gilbert - Icarus (1884) 3 views Alfred Gilbert - Perseus Arming (1882) Antonin Mercie - David (1872) 2 versions

Bernini - David, 3 views (1623-24) Carpeaux - Boy with a Shell x 3 Carpeaux - Girl, Boy with a Shell

Chaudet - Cupid with a Butterfly Edward Onslow Ford - Linos x 2 Falconet - Pygmalion & Galatee (1763) x 2

The green-backed middle image of Gilbert's Icarus (x3) was the
wrong way round when I found it on the Internet.  I checked my
copy of Alfred Gilbert by Richard Dorment  before correcting it.

There is nothing effete about Bernini's David;  he really means
business.  Click the thumbnail above to see the larger graphic.
