Plaque number 41 can be found at this location.
The plaque can be found above the doorway on the corner of Salt Lane and Endless Street.
The O/S grid position is SU 14505 East 30156 North.
MCMXXXV (1935)
Social services currently (2008) occupy most of the premises of the former fire station.
The large doors, behind which the fire engines were stationed, are still in place.
A more interest plaque is currently covered by a blanking plate above the doorway in Salt Lane.
Above one of the former fire station doorways along Salt Lane, there is a hidden plaque.
When the new fire station was opened, this plaque was covered up.
There were proposals to re-site this plaque to the new fire station.
