On Saturday
24th June, the Feast of the Birth of St John the Baptist, a
coachload of parishioners met at St James', to pray together,
and then travelled to Abergavenny for a guided tour of the Priory
Church of St Mary before lunch. Then northwards into the Herfordshire
borderlands along narrow winding country lanes to visit the
ancient Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Orcop sing Evensong.
We were
welcomed by a group of parishioners who joined us for worship
and after the service provided us with an excellent strawberry
and cream tea, to sustain us on our homeward journey.
