Encaustic Art is the art of "painting" with wax. Most of the pictures on this site have been "painted" using an Encaustic iron and blocks of wax. The method includes melting wax onto the iron and then spreading the melted wax onto a gloss paper. Other methods include heating the paper and spreading the wax onto it, or using a stylus tool (similar to a soldering iron) and "drawing" with the wax.
