Mallory test (the very first outing on our new machine)

26/02/03, Mallory Park, Test day

First test on the new RGV, bloody hell am I unfit! Started the day getting used to the handling of the bike etc. I can safely say this bike is an amazing bit of kit compared to last years arm chair like VJ22. First session on the modified Mallory park saw me achieve mid 1m02secs lap times which I thought was respectable considering the last time I rode a bike I smashed myself up at Snetterton in September. Handling wise the bike is spot on, any line seemed to be fine and the feed back was unreal. The power, well it just seemed to pull all the way from 7500rpm right through to 12500rpm! Not what you'd expect from your usual two stroke. Next session got in a couple of 1m01secs and seemed to click with the bike really well. Final session saw me achieve a few 1min dead lap times which I was real impressed with until the rear tyre went off and saw me sliding speedway style through the esses a few times, I decided to call it a day. Bring on the first race (16th March newera club championship).
