Leighton Walker

Weight:  10.5 stone

First bike:  Honda pedal start 50cc aged 14. Followed closely by the main chick magnet the one and only AR50! This was where he developed his huge interest in road bikes, a genuine 55mph was pretty rapid in those days. First real bike was a KR1S, great fun but ugly a sin.

Started racing:
Initially at the ripe age of 18 but it lasted all of three rounds due to some large get offs (upon a KR1S) (at every round in fact). The bike suffered serious chassis damage with a broken frame (yes really! almost in half), a twisted swing arm and no further funds the young apprentice gave it up as a bad idea. But... Here we are again! Still with the odd screw loose but with only 1 crash in his second debut season (2002), he was back in business, securing second place in his first ever club race at Cadwell Park. Then progressing and learning from each season that has passed since.

Interests:
Motorcycles have been a major part of Leightons life ever since the day he was told "no way are you having a motorbike". This then developed into a fasination in 2 Strokes machines. Leighton is also a keen fan on keeping fit, visiting the gym 2-3 times a week; along with the usual man stuff of playing football and socialising (whilst drinking the odd ale). Other extreme sports he participates in are jet skiing, gokarting, quadbiking, mountain biking and climbing.

Bikes owned: Kawasaki AR50, Yamaha RD 125 LC x 3, Kawasaki KR1S x 2, Kawasaki ZXR750J2, Yamaha YZ125, Yamaha YZ250, Aprilia RS250, RGV250 x 4, NS400R, RG500, Honda RS250.

Riding style: Elbowz! It was good enough for Aaron Slight wasn't it! If in doubt stick em out!

Bones broken: Left wrist twice, right wrist twice, right arm in 4 places, right talus (ankle), right thumb, right and left index finger, right forefinger, right little finger, 10 ribs, cracked sternum and a dislocated collar bone. All in the name of motorcycle racing, now you can't tell me that’s not commitment! :-D
