A BRIEF HISTORY OF GARY MITCHELL...

'Dear Sir or Madam will you read my book...' - writer and historian Gary Mitchell was born in North London on the last day of 1958. Moving briefly to Berkshire, he grew up in Henley-In-Arden, a set of traffic lights between Stratford-Upon-Avon and Birmingham, and at school was a founder member of the Drunkards comedy group.

In 1978 Gary went to work for the BBC in London and two decades and many adventures later became a novelist (see 'Previous Life' ).

Gary currently lives in Bournemouth, Dorset, England, with wife Julia and their two grown-up daughters Deanna (thirteen) and Olivia (eleven - yes, those are the right ages). He teaches History at a Dorset secondary school, where he's also involved with developing creative writing talent, in house, and for local radio (see 'Comedy' ). In 2007 he was nominated for 'UK Teacher Of the Year'. 'Gazza' regularly publishes work on military history, drinks too much red-wine, amuses his kids, and supports AFC Bournemouth.
