The paint finish for the aluminium casings is achieved using a simple engine aluminium paint. All that is required is to give the tarnished & oxidised aluminium a good brushing with a stiff wire brush to remove any loose dirt or oxidation. I then wiped the casing over with commercial Tar & Glue Remover to remove any debris & then left the unit to dry. After about 15 mins it is then so simple to just paint the casing evenly with the aluminium paint & allow to dry. It has to be said that the finish is a little too bright at first but very soon the brightness has disappeared & after a few weeks of running the aluminium finish looks perfect. I have used this very simple technique on  many other parts such as the engine  block & heads as well as the gearbox with the same excellent results

Above is the phosphor bronze bush which locates the rear end of the prop shaft into the flexible coupling  (doughnut). Because the prop shaft was out of balance there was wear in the bush which had become seriously out of round. The result was  play in the transmission  & a  vibration through the seats at  around 85 mph. The solution to this problem was to have the propeller shaft expertly balanced & replace the bronze bush.
