Elite Trade RoutesTwenty years late I know, but I was messing around in the Elite universe and thought it might be nice to have a route planner. Here are some results.The first picture for each galaxy shows all possible routes for a ship with a 7.0LY range. The second shows those routes between systems with large Tech Level and maximal Economic differences - these make good trading routes. The program was written in BBC Basic for RISC OS, using Ian Bell's published data-generation algorithms. If you're wondering what the green, yellow and red bits are: Green shows the current system and available fuel range, yellow is the selected hyperspace destination and its range, and red is the system under the pointer and its range. Additional windows show System Info, Market Prices and a local view with all planet names. The graph of routes with a 4LY range contains some convincing "constellations". I'll put these up too if anyone is interested. |
