The Buckingham

The  elegant Buckingham is 2.17 m tall and only solid   oak  is used in the construction, including all the parts you can't see.

The bevelled glass door , secured with a little brass lock , reveals brass cased weights suspended by cables and pulleys and a superb lyre pendulum, swinging at 60 beats per minute (very relaxing).

The German movement has individually selectable triple chimes , Whittington, Westminster and St Michael, and selectable automatic night silence. This movement also has maintaining power which is a device that keeps the clock running in perfect time whilst it is being wound. This feature is only found on high quality movements.

The moving moon dial has solid brass applied Roman numerals, engraved centre and seconds hand. The quality and appearance of this dial is outstanding .

The hood is topped with brass ball and spire finials and the hand turned spindles are embellished with  brass capitals.

Unfortunately, a photograph cannot do this clock justice, you really have to see the quality and solidity of the Buckingham to appreciate the craftsmanship--and then you will want one!

Many features are interchangeable between the Hughenden and Buckingham--please 'phone for details.

The red silk tassel on the door key adds an elegant touch
