| This is one of the first generation of radios which looked like radios, rather than
looking like scientific instruments. Then again, it's one of the first generation of radios which is all complete,
with the speaker and even the aerial built in. There are plenty of valves in here, so it should have enough
gain to work with the internal aerial. It's a nice and pretty scarce set, and it will make a very nice restoration
project. It even comes with the original instruction card. Wow! There are moans, of course. Unsurprisingly, the
leather handle is suffering from a bit of rot, but it is still mostly there. I do know a man who can re-build
this, if you want, and make a nice job of it. This problem can be solved. The polish on the cabinet is a bit
tired up around the top of the cabinet, especially at the front, around the hole for the controls. The speaker
cloth has some nasty stains on it. I suspect you're going to replace it. The innards
are quite nice, though the wires which used to run to the batteries are very rough indeed and are going to need
replacing. However, on the good side, they do have the original little celluloid labels to tell you which wire
is which, so you can make it nice with some new cloth-covered wires. There is some rust and general signs of
damp on the innards, so I guess this one has been stored somewhere pretty rough for quite a long time. The third
valve sits in a little anti-microphonic valve holder which was constructed on a wad of foam. Not surprisingly,
the foam has decomposed. There's a thing for you to play with! Otherise this is a nice set and will be an
interesting project for you to do. At least there's some serious age to this one!
Size: 36cm High, 36cm Wide, 20cm Deep. Just email me if you want this one!
