| This is a one-owner model. Bought new on 10th January 1950 from a shop on The Moor
in Falmouth, by Mr Kneebone. I know this, because it says so on the guarantee, which is still with the set.
So is the instruction manual, which also includes the circuit diagram. The whole caboodle looks like it's been
stuck in a time-warp. The condition of the whole thing is very nice. There is a little corrosion on the front
panel, which has pushed off a little paint, but it's really not much (see photos). Inside, it has had a couple
of new dropper sections, but other than that, it seems to be very much as Eddystone left it. I don't expect
it still works, and I don't intend to try it out. It would be silly to burn it up before checking for any
little faults. This type was built on AC/DC principles with little valves like UCH42 and UL41, which were the
latest thing in 1949. This was done to allow it to work onboard ships, and that's what its owner wanted it for.
It was quite a set in its day; it's even got a push-pull output circuit with negative feedback!
This will make a top set with a little effort, and I think it would be well worth getting to grips with. I haven't
had a better Eddystone for quite a long time.
Size: 22cm High, 43cm Wide, 27cm Deep. Just email me if you want this one.
