Dave Sayell

UK Modified/Superstox 123

 

Born 1979

Married June 2001 to Josanne who
sadly died Dec 2003.

Now with Demelza (Mel)
Daughter Cloe-Jayne  and son Owen

Younger Brother to Rob Sayell and youngest son of Anne and Harry.

Racing History:

Occasional outings only in Harry & Rob's GP Midgets prior to debuting his own Superstox/UK Modified in 2002.
Raced only occasionally in 2002 due to family needs.

Dave was very disappointed when Alwalton Raceway closed in 2003 but  joined the UK Modifieds at Rolling Thunder Show as this is also non-contact at the time.

Successes:

1999 in Harry's VW

9th in East of England Championship his debut race. (8th in the points)

10th in both support races both from back of grid at his first meeting.

1999 in Rob's Dart
3rd highest in Novice race on Fun Day
4th highest in Allcomers Race on Fun Day

2002 Superstox debut/2003 season

Meanwhile Dave has already shown good potential in the Supastox class
at Alwalton and following the closure of Alwalton Raceway gained more experience in the UK Modified class at the RTS series in 2004.
Dave's potential was recognised by the reigning UK Modified

multi champion Owen Brown whose Motorsport and
Auto Repair Repair Company  sponsored his 2004 season 
This has given Dave a real boost after a particularly tough year
personally in 2003.

2004 Season

Dave's first full season went very well his initial ambition to get in the top ten was met and more finishing 5th overall despite missing three rounds at Fleet.

Dave outqualified everyone for pole in the World Cup meeting and he finished 4th in the event . He also had his first win and was runner up to Owen Brown in the Arena Track Championship event

2005 - present day

In 2005 the UK Modifieds ran from graded order
and Dave joined the family tradition by starting the season as a red grade driver.
Mixed fortunes in 2005 saw him  in the top six until a spate of breakdowns and accidents dropped him to 9th in Aug When running well Dave was competitive often reaching top 3 before being let down by the car.

2006 saw Dave retire for the time being having started working for himself and having increased his family to 2.
