Superstox 2000 - 2004:

harry3.jpg (28048 bytes)

2000 summary: A hard but enjoyable induction into the formula - at the end of the season Harry still felt he has a long way to go to adapt to what is a totally different formula having gone from lots of power in a light car with lots of grip to a heavy car with an engine at the front instead of the rear and very little grip! Best result two 3rd places and a 4th at Yarmouth in one night.

2001 summary. Harry sold the 2000 Superstox less engine and gearbox and the chassis and other parts of the second hand HCD car and ordered a new HCD chassis for Harry to build up himself, taking delivery of the chassis in April the original plan was to race it mid 2001. But this was not to be timewise.

Harry also towed Rob to all 20 GP Midget meetings he has done and Harry was  busy at each one in the role as Assistant Scrutineer for the Midget Club and Rob's pit crew.

2002 summary:

Debuted the completed HCD Superstox at Alwalton Raceway in their non-contact version Supastox on 24th March 2002. A number of wins finishing the season Alwalton Best Newcomer,  3rd in Heat Championship and 2nd in Finals Championship. Also took several top 3 places at Arena's Rolling Thunder Show Series racing in the UK Modified Series. Best season with the Superstox.

2003 Season: Proved an extremely difficult year for the family personally with the terminal illness of Dave's wife and racing was not foremost in our priorities. Did have some wins but was out of top 6 overall but did pick up the Fastest Race Trophy - a competition held across all formulas so this result pleased us no end.

2004 Season: Alwalton Raceway closed at end of 2003 leaving only the Rolling Thunder Series for non-contact racing.  Results included 3rd in Track championship event with Dave 2nd. An excellent season for Dave but Harry lost interest and sold the car before the season ended.

harry2005.jpg (43295 bytes)

Returned to Midgets (and the racing number of 1) in Arrow built & raced in 1984-89 whilst building new car for 2006 season. Bought the Arrow from Barry Mayfield Christmas 2004 and tidied it up to race April 05. Best results   30th Anniversary Trophy, 4th in British Championship, heat wins and some seconds.   Car for sale from Aug 05

Also mechanicing and towing Dave to UK Modified meetings at 2005 Rolling Thunder Show rounds at Arena Essex. Priority given to Dave's meetings so part season only with Midgets.

2006 Time out to finish Build

2007 Introducing the SRV1

Harry had a good season in 2007 finishing 3rd overall despite missing 3 meetings and most of the first one. The new car handled well from the start and just lacks a little power on the straights. He finished 4th in the World and won the Southern Championship.

2008 plans are yet to be decided - Rob has bought a Formula Jedi and Harry is undecided whether to race himself or not with his main interest in the Jedi build.
