HARRY

Harry started Sayell Racing. He has been racing on the small ovals since 1972. He started out in grass track whilst living in Bedfordshire. in 1977 we moved to Norfolk and in 1979 Harry started Grand Prix Midget racing. This is where he found fame (but no fortune) eventually winning 9 consecutive Drivers Championships between 1990 and 1998 along with 4 World Championships and 5 European Championships several runner up places and loads of other trophies in between.

In 1999 he turned his attention to Superstox racing his first ever drive being in the famous Neil Bee car at Wimbledon loaned to him courtesy of Kevin Bee and Dave Turner. A season with Spedeworth in 2000 taught Harry he was not really cut out for contact racing tending to brake when he should be hitting! He moved to Alwalton Raceway  and RTS at Arena for the non-contact kind of Superstox racing. Here he was a bit more successful.

In 2005 Harry returned to G P Midgets with a former car whilst building a new one. He took 2006 out to complete the build and debuted the SRV1 in 2007. The aim now is to "wind down" after nearly 30 years on tarmac with a view to retiring in 2008/9.

ROB

Rob  started G P Midget racing almost before he got a road licence. Harry and Rob  build his car, the Dart debuting it in 1997. In 1998 he took third in Drivers Championship and Best Newcomer trophy and when Harry retired in 1999 Rob took over winning the Drivers Championship which eh then held until 2002 inclusive. He took the rest of 2003 off after a successful trip to race in South Africa in February but returned in 2004 to take the next 2 Drivers championships and had a part season only in 2006 doing just 8 of the 16 meetings and still finishing 3rd overall. In this time he won 2 European Championships and no less than  6 World Championships making G P Midget history.

Rob took great pride in his car always turning it out in immaculate condition and regularly took it to shows such as the Autosport Show at the NEC.

He sold the car he had had from 1997 at end of 2006 and is currently considering Jedi racing as a possible venture from 2009 on.  Throughout Trudy has not only supported Rob's racing but actively encouraged it.

DAVE

Dave04.jpg (11688 bytes)

Dave has done the least amount of racing but has shown the same Sayell talent for it. He chose a harder path in lots of ways going straight into Superstox style racing with a second hand car. He raced at Alwalton Raceway briefly in 2003 and 2004 before it closed moving on to RTS at Arena in the UK Modifieds. His best result being runner up in the Arena Track Championship event and the occasional win in a competitive field often against far superior cars.

Both family and work commitments have understandably taken priority and he has not raced since 2005. Dave  is expecting his third child in May 2008.  His superstox/F2 is currently for sale.
