LECTURE NOTES - This value-for-money set of lecture notes contains, not only lots of great tricks, but also quite a few of the props required for some of the routines.

You get... five 10p/US quarter sized glass mirrors (for a great double-matrix routine revolving around the patter line, "It's all done by mirrors!"), a large contact lens (for a really funny 'sight' gag - pun intended, that you can use at ANY point in your performance), and an almost invisible glass dice.

TWISTER - This is my best card effect... EVER!
"Better than OMEGA?" you ask... yes, I really think it is!
Three face down cards with a face up jack on the bottom are shown. The jack changes three times until all four suits have been seen!
You next offer to show them a trick with the aces, which are in your pocket. You remove four cards and table them, but... they are the jacks? "If these are the jacks," you say, "then THESE must be the aces!" You show the cards in your hand (previously jacks) and... THEY are the aces!
No sleights! No need for a table, as all the magic happens up in your hands. Ideal for strolling or at cluttered tables! The four aces and the four jacks can all be examined at the end!

HASH-TOWN-DING - Someone shuffles an examined blue backed deck (which also contains four red backers). You take it back and, in seconds, produce the aces! However, this results in laughter from your audience, not stunned amazement.
You next explain that you are thinking of a word, and ask them to try and read your mind. They say that they think your word is... SOAP. You act astonished and say that it was! You then remove the four red backed cards, seen earlier, and a letter has appeared on the back of each of them. The four letters are... S, O, A and P!

ACAAN (Any Card At Any Number) - You table a cased deck, then remove a small, thin note-pad from your shirt pocket and ask one person to name ANY card. Let's assume he says, "The Queen of Spades." You record this on the pad. You next ask a second person to name ANY number from 1 to 52. Let's assume this person says, "22". You record this too, then pick up the cased deck. You remove the cards and show that they are all different. You hand the deck to one of them, and ask that he deals down to the 22nd card... it's the Queen of Spades!

If you would like to inject a little comedy into the routine... once the card and number have been named, you can explain that you have a giant playing card in your pocket (or an envelope) and ask if everyone would be impressed if the named card was on its face, and the named number was on its back? When they reply... you remove the card and... ALL 52 card faces are printed on its face and ALL the numbers from 1 to 52 are printed on its back!

At this point you must allow at least five minutes for the laughter to subside?

LEKETENEM - With a regular deck, in their own hands, two people each look at a card. They have a 100% free choice of ANY card.

Their cards are lost - you genuinely don't know where they are in the deck!

You now put the cards into your empty pocket then, seconds later... produce both selections! The rest of the deck is now removed and you are able to continue with any other card routines that you have mastered.

There are four presentations - the one above, one performed with a face up deck, one involving four people (ideal for two married couples - to see if they are compatible) and a 100% impromptu version with ANY deck. (£12.00)   BACK TO TOP

THREEmendous - A special deck of Bicycle cards (supplied) is fanned or table spread before someone. They are asked to THINK of one of the cards that they can see.

The cards are cased and pocketed, as you offer to demonstrate the difference between mind-reading and guessing. A humourous phase now unfolds as you make a few statements about their card, such as... "It's a red card!" If they reply yes, you add, "That was mind reading." If they reply no, you say, "That was guessing!" (get the idea?).

By now you have removed three cards, from your breast pocket, and tabled them in a face down row. Incredibly... the first card reveals the colour of the thought of card, the second reveals the suit and the third the actual value!

JUMPING JACK FLASH - From your own Bicycle deck, two cards are selected and returned. You table the cards, gently touching the edges. The deck now s-l-o-w-l-y cuts itself (just like in the HAUNTED DECK) at the first selection!

You mix the cards some more, then table them as before. Then, as your hand hovers near the deck, the second selected card literally JUMPS completely out and (if you're lucky) into your waiting hand!

No threads are used! No ITRs or anything similar.

A special gimmicked Bicycle card is supplied that can be added to (and later stolen from) your own (or a borrowed) deck. (£12.00)   BACK TO TOP

Effect: A card is freely selected from your own deck, which is spread faces up between your hands. The selection is then replaced, the jokers are removed, and the deck tabled face down. Four coins, from different countries, are now tabled in a row and one selected. The coin is placed onto the deck, then struck, with the jokers. It appears to have vanished? However, you explain, it has actually been pounded down into the deck... only to reappear sitting on top of the actual selected card! (See photo opposite).

OMEGA - (The world's only examinable B'Wave) - Two sets of blue Bicycle backed aces are shown. You table one set face down and have someone name ANY ace. With the other set behind your back, you manage to reverse their ace (big deal!) However, you now spread the tabled set and their ace has magically reversed there too! Next, you hand someone your set of aces and, whilst in their hands, the face of their ace VANISHES and the backs of the other three change from blue to RED! (they are now examinable!) Finally, someone picks up the tabled set and, with the cards in their hands, their ace becomes RED backed and the faces of the other cards VANISH! (they are also examinable!). THE MISSING LINK - Three playing cards (or business cards) are shown and then, with herculean strength, you tear out their centres - in order, you explain, to magically link them together.

Once they have been linked, they are then torn apart (to break the chain), then the "hoops" are restored and handed out for immediate examination.

Once you've bought THE MISSING LINK, you need NEVER buy it again, if the cards become soiled, or even send off for more replacement gimmicks!

Why? Because you can make future gimmicks yourself in less than five seconds!

LAZARUS CARD - This is the strangest rising card method ever. Why? Because the card that rises IS the actual gimmick!
Also, the selected card rises AND (to amusing patter) its back changes from red to blue! This means that you only have to pocket it, which is logical as its back no longer matches the rest of the cards) and... THE DECK IS CLEAN!

*No weights, threads, elastics, springs, electronics, cut-out cards or ANYTHING like you've ever seen before!*

QUARTET - Four large cards (actually 'just' slightly smaller than jumbos), are shown. They are all the same, but one has flipped face down. They are shown again and a second has flipped face down.

This is repeated until only one remains face up. You now ask if they'd like to 'see' the final card VISIBLY flip face down? They would, but aren't too impressed when you simply remove it, and openly turn it over!

However, when the four cards are dealt face up to the table... they are now all completely different, and match the four freely 'forced' cards that they chose earlier!

WOWallet PACKAGE - Routine 1: From a regular deck... someone deals cards into a face up pile. They stop at some point. You pick up the WOWallet and remove a card with a different coloured back - it predicts the card stopped at... WOW!
    Routine 2: Uses a special 'Koran Deck' (supplied - for a limited time). Someone THINKS of a card. You demonstrate the difference between mind-reading and guessing. "You're thinking of a red card!" you say. "No!" they reply. "That was guessing." you say. "It's a high value card!" you say. "Yes." they reply. "That was mind-reading." Then... you pick up the WOWallet and remove a face down card - it predicts the card they thought of... WOW!
    Routine 3: Uses a special deck (a combination of a regular deck and a 'Koran Deck'). One person selects a card, another thinks of one. You pick up the WOWallet and remove two face down cards - they match those selected and thought of... WOW! (£25.00)   BACK TO TOP

FADE AWAY - Three face down cards are show and tabled to one side for the moment.

Introducing a regular deck of cards, you have one selected, signed across its face, returned and then lost. The deck is now set aside, as you show the three cards tabled earlier. Incredibly, ALL THREE appear to be the signed selection!

Then the cards become shy and refuse to show their faces in public, backing away from everyone (all three cards now have backs on both sides!) Finally, they all return to normal!

This is a brilliant routine (modest ehhh?) and easy to perform. Only three cards are used - apart from those in your deck that is! (£12.00)   BACK TO TOP

PARADOX - This is an incredible topological curiosity with a playing card and a third!

Four odd shaped pieces, cut from Bicycle playing cards, are tabled. You explain that three of the pieces marry together to form the shape of a complete playing card. The extra piece is only supplied in case of emergencies (i.e. if you lose a piece!) The extra 'emergency' piece is shown to be the same shape as one of the other pieces and is then set aside.

Strangely, although YOU easily solved the 'apparently' simple jig-saw puzzle... no one else can!
