If your society is now booking this year's lecturers, or is organising a convention and looking for exciting new acts, chances are that they'll be far too expensive, so... why not settle for a lecture from Stephen Tucker?
Stephen is British born-and-bred, and is a multi-award winning performer in both the cabaret and close-up arenas. He's also one of the most modest performers around today! In addition to a lecture, he can also offer a close-up performance at one of your organised events.
Although he made an extensive lecture-tour of Europe in 1993, he no longer lectures overseas. Below are two unsolicited reviews of his lectures in the USA, and a brief word or two from Bob Elliott, who organised his lecture tour of the States.

Two Lecture Reviews...

His first lecture, in Kenzo's Magic Studio (Baltimore, Maryland), was a great start to his tour. The two-and-a-half hour lecture drew such luminaries as Harvey Rosenthal and John Ekin. The opening effect of a selection rising from a borrowed, cased deck had everyone on the edge of their seats. But to quote an old saying, "They ain't seen nothin' yet!"
The time flew by as Stephen's dry sense of humour and subtle skills held the crowds spellbound. I knew they would be stunned by his original magic. What took me by surprise was the uninterrupted flow of genuine adlibs and one-liners that wove the routines into a memorable performance. Even the non-performers took lecture notes at the end.
I won't go into detail, but there was definitely something for everyone. He taught magic with cards, coins ropes and pens, but the musical sponge balls brought the house down. The closing item, which Stephen called the Million Dollar Book Gag, brought sustained applause and laughter. The next lecturer at Kenzo's will have a tough act to follow.
I'm sure that the normally, peaceful magicians of Delaware will never be the same again because it's their turn tomorrow. By the time you read this, Connecticut, New Jersey, Long Island and New York City will also be reeling from the Tucker Experience. This lecture is highly recommended.

In Linden, New Jersey I had the pleasure of seeing Stephen Tucker lecture. Everybody had high expectations from the man who had already published seven books full of original concepts. Attending were some of the best, Karl Fulves, Richard Kaufman etc. Nobody was disappointed. Not only was he charming and funny but he also fooled us with some of his thinking. What made Stephen's lecture stand out from most was the vast amount of material he covers. Tricks with cards, coins, books, bills, cheques, sponges, pens, rope, wallets, zips, photographs, and other unique props. It was great to watch a lecture full of short and direct effects, everything visual and to the point.
Anybody who walked away with less that three new routines to add to their repertoire, was not paying attention. His variety of tricks are from the most difficult to the completely self-working. In this fast-paced three hour lecture Stephen covered over thirty routines, moves, ideas, etc.
He also demonstrated about ten of his marketed items. In all I must say everybody enjoyed the event and I can highly recommend it to anyone who loves magic. So go and see Stephen Tucker when he is in your area. You will not be sorry!

Booking lectures for clubs gives me the opportunity to see all the Greats of Magic from A - Z (Ammarr to Zarrow.) and I can say that, at the least, this is one of the best practical lectures I have ever seen, if not the best. You will be able to walk away with a pocket full of miracles that you will be able to master quickly and at the same time, leave your audience in a state of shock.
This is a magic lecture not to be missed.

LECTURE NOTES - This value-for-money set of lecture notes contains, not only lots of great tricks, but also quite a few of the props required for some of the routines.

You get... five 10p/US quarter sized glass mirrors (for a great double-matrix routine revolving around the patter line, "It's all done by mirrors!"), a large contact lens (for a really funny 'sight' gag - pun intended, that you can use at ANY point in your performance), and an almost invisible glass dice.

All the routines are easy to perform, and very effective.

I actually use many of them in my own paid work. (£12.00)
