On The Day .......

The Fun Runs 1km & 2km

The first event is open to all children in year 6 (below 11 years of age) and will cover a distance of approximately 1km. The route will be fully marshalled. The event will start from the village hall and then head south along Broad Highway and then left into Braithegayte and out through into The Cranbrooks. From here it will head east along North Lane and finish just inside the school side entrance. A memento will be awarded to all finishers. The 2km course is the same as the 1km but obviously the runners do 2 laps.

The 10km Event

This event will start at 2:15pm in North Lane. At 2:10pm the runners will be assembled ready for the start. Please do not obstruct the road before this time.

Marshals will be located at a number of points along the route to ensure competitors and spectator safety.
Therefore, please listen to their instructions. In addition, please keep to the left handside of the road and where crossing over is necessary please ensure it is safe to do so.

A water stop will be provided at around 6km, although it is advisable that all competitors drink sufficient water prior to the run. It should be noted that the event is being held on an afternoon in June, when the temperature and conditions can be demanding especially if you are running!

First Aid will be provided (by St Johns Ambulance) if necessary and in the event of this being required then the nearest marshal should be contacted.

Vehicles will be used at the front and rear of the race to aid the warning of other road users of the competitors on the road. In addition, should a competitor have to withdraw from the run, then the rear vehicle will be able to provide a lift to the finish.

Car Parking

Car parking will be available on the verge of Broad Highway and around the village roads.. Please do not block driveways and other access routes in and around the village.

Changing Facilities, Toilets and Showers

Changing and showering facilities will NOT be available at the village hall. Toilets will be available at the school.

Prizes (10km only)

A commemorative memento will be awarded to all finishers. Additional prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male and Female and the following winners of the Veteran categories Men 40, 50, 60 and Women 35, 45, 55 (& 65 if sufficient entries)
