The band are pleased to be able to announce that they will be playing this years Dutch Doom Day Festival on Sunday the 25th October. This will be the 8th edition of the annual festival held at the Baroeg in Rotterdam. So far confirmed are Lord Vicar, Ereb Altor, Spiritus Mortis and The 11th Hour.

In other Dutch Doom Day related news, The Prophecy are featured on the 2009 released DVD 'Chronicles of Doom' alongside Reverend Bizarre, Saturnus, The Gates of Slumber and many more. The DVD was professonally shot at the Dutch Doom day in 2006 and is out 'Weird Truth' productions from Japan.

The Prophecy will also be making an appearance at the first edition of the Dublin Doom Day on September 12th 2009 alongside Esoteric, Saturnus and The Lamp of Thoth.

Unfortunately due to Financial reasons this autumns Opblaaspop has been cancelled. The Prophecy are gutted to once again they are not able to play SAS Van Gent but hope that they can be part of the next edition sometime in 2010.

The band are currently still scheduled to play Antwerp on the 28th Aug and are currently looking for dates either side of this to replace the opblaspop date.

The Prophecy are back in the studio to record a song for an upcoming Code666 complilation celebrating ten years of the label. The band will be returning to Priory Studios to record the track which is a reworked version song from the revelations era.

The Prophecy would like to thank James and Mark for helping to organise the recent Irish tour. All the gigs were great and the band was recieved very well. The Prophecy will return to Ireland on the 12th September to play the Dublin Doom Day with Doom/death metal gods Esoteric and Saturnus.

The Prophecy have returned to the UK after playing the Moscow Doom Festival.

Vocalist Matt Lawson had this to say

"Moscow was fantastic, such a great crowd and a really well organised show. I think we took everyone by surprise a little bit with our performance as we can be a bit lively on stage for a Doom band but we soon had heads banging, hands clapping and shouts for more! They certainly made us feel welcome"

Into the Light has now been officially released. To Celebrate the band will be playing a special album launch gig at the bands favorite UK venue The Snooty Fox in Wakefield on the 06th March.

Mastering is now completed by top Mastering Engineer Tom Kvålsvoll from Strype Audio (Check out his discography). Yorkshire, UK progressive doom-death metallers THE PROPHECY have inked a deal with Code666 for the release of their brand new album titled "Into The Light". The follow-up to 2006's "Revelations" was recorded at Priory Studios in Sutton Colefields with producer/engineer Greg Chandler (ESOTERIC) and is scheduled for a worldwide release on February 20, 2009.

Commented the band: "We recorded the demo for the new album in August [2007] at Priory Studios with Greg Chandler. The demo surpassed anything we had previously done so we knew that the album would turn out to be something special. As with every album we're released we always aim to write and record the best possible music, building on our earlier works. Over the last couple of years our collective musicianship and song writing has improved immensely and this has allowed us to really progress from 'Revelations'. Combined with Chandler's expertise in the studio, 'Into The Light' has become our heaviest and most technical album to date."

THE PROPHECY would like to apologise wholeheartedly for being unable to perform at the STERRE CHILDREN'S FARM BENEFIT gig in Sas Van Gent. Unfortunately after our gig in Antwerp De Rots we were bitten to pieces by mosquitos in our accomadation and our guitarist had an allergic reaction to the bites. This caused his fingers to swell up to the point at which he could not hold his guitar. Every effort was made to reduce the swelling and we hoped we would be able to perform at least a few songs however it was not to be. Our thanks go out to Emillio and Bassie the organisers of the gig for their understanding of the situation and hopefully we raised lots of money for the charity. We promise to return to Sas Van Gent as soon as possible to play the show

A big thankyou to Never Comes Silence for once again organising a great show in Datteln and being our touring partners in Europe. It was fantastic to be able to organise shows with some of the best bands we have played with over the years. Thanks also to Honey For Christ for risking life and limb by touring with THE PROPHECY, and surprise surprise getting ill again, but as always playing like demons and kicking ass everywhere. A big thanks also to My Silent Wake and The Drowning who helped out with our UK Shows. It was great to meet MSW and to reunite with THE DROWNING one year on. Thanks to Greg Chandler for the place to crash and the home made absinthe and a special thanks to Mike Hitchen from MSW and TD for putting us up for two nights and providing us with expensive beer.

The Prophecy are featured in the current issue of Zero Tolerance 025. The feature is part of a four page special focusing on the Yorkshire scene with interviews from Paul Groundwell at Peaceville records. The magazine has also been kind enough to sponsor the band's upcoming three date tour with My Silent Wake and The Drowning in October.

The band have finally finished tracking the new album at Priory Studios in Sutton Coalfields. The album now consists of eight tracks and at the moment the unconfirmed titles are Water Deep, Don't Forget, Delusion, Echoes, Belief Means Nothing, All is Lost, Into The Light, Hope. The band will return to Priory to complete mixing in September. The new album sees the introduction of Cello into the songs with top cellist Steph Boyle featured on the album. The album will no doubt hold a few surprises for people and so far the band are really pleased with the progress made. The release date for the album is still unconfirmed but we hope to be able to release artwork soon and hopefully announce the official release date within the next month or so.

We are currently putting the final touches in place ready for recording the new Album 'Into The Light'. A sample track from the preproduction can be heard on the our myspace site. The band have chosen Priory Studios in Sutton Coalfields to record their new album. It is run by Greg Chandler of the ledgendary ESOTERIC and the band found it a great place to work when recording the preproduction last year. We are booked in for July and August so hopefully we will have the finished product by the end of September. We are currently negotiating with labels so do not have a release date as yet.

The Prophecy 'track Rivers' from their last album 'Revelations' has been aired on Ragnarok radio, Scotlands premier metal podcast station. The Prophecy are pleased to announce that they will once again be travelling out to the continent to play a string of shows. This next tour is promising to be particularly good with the first date of the tour seeing the band make a welcome return to the much loved Opblaaspop festival in Sas Van Gent. THE Prophecy will be performing with top Dutch band Incarnate and as ever will be bringing the party to Sas Van Gent! Guard your women and your beer!

The Prophecy then play Tilberg little devil club with NoFace record label mates Conquest of Steel, a gig likely to be full of non stop metal madness. The band then head out to Rostock De to play the Stubnitz. A rather remarkable venue set aboard a ship. No doubt this will be a great show. The band will also be shooting some DVD footage of the event so please come along to enjoy the fun. Tuesday then sees the band playing in the Czech capital of Prague where the band are booked into Exit Chmelnice. This will be the bands first appearance in the czech republic.

The Prophecy will then return to Holland for a number of shows to be confirmed. In between shows they have arranged a photoshoot with top band Photographer Nera K to shoot some photos for the album booklet and website.

The band are also pleased to announce some more Merchandise stock. The band have recently aquired some 25mm badges with 9 different designs that are now available to purchase on the prophecy website. Coming soon - keyrings and fridge magnets!!!

The Prophecy will be appearing at a number of local shows with Northern Ireland Metal Heros Honey For Christ. The last show at the Snooty fox in Wakefield will be played in aid of Cancer Research so make sure you come along for a top night out!

So the Doom over Europe tour is finally over and its time to reflect on the madness of the last three weeks. THE PROPHECY left a trail of destruction from Austria back to England consuming a small ocean of alcoholic beverages and leaving smelly beer poo in service stations across Europe.

The Band would like to thank Felix "Beaker" Schoonen for his tour organisation and last minute cab miscalculation panic, and also his pumpkin punchbag Godverdomme! Peter Pan, Stevie, Big Chris and Noah from In Age and sadness you cool motherfuckers and Tom, Sasha, Tania, Frank, Fabian and Vero from Never Come Silence for the endless suply of Krom coupled with the pumpkin arena. A big thanks to the sound man at Osnabruk and Datteln and also to the Metropool crew in Hengelo. Also thanks to Emily for helping us sort out the belgian music mafia otherwise known as SABAM. Also thanks to The Drowning, Rich and Centurians Ghost, Kieren from Unsilence and Malc from the snotty box. All in all it was a great tour and the first test for our new tourbus after the death of the old bus "rebeccah" in Portugal. The band hope to be able to get back out to the continent in March/April of next year and will be concentrating on recording their new album 'Into The Light'.

After a mammoth 72 hour drive to Portugal and back Gavin Parkinson, Andy Clarke and Matt Lawson have finally returned to the UK with The Prophecy's and Honey For Christ's equipment.

On speaking to the band Matt had the following to say

" It was a hard long drive and a costly exercise to do but there was no way we were going to leave our gear in Portugal, especially when there are guitars and amps that are irreplaceable. We were really fortunate in having Nemesis Productions as our tour promoters as they found us safe storage for our gear while we undertook the four day round trip.

I'm just glad we were all able to get home safe and without any further incidents. Constant driving for up to 36 hours a time isnt recommended and there was some severe cabin fever going on after the first 20 hours! However the whole incident has pulled the two bands HFC and TP together and we will not be disheartened by the events of the last week. Yes we lost our tour bus and it has cost the band considerably financially! But we still have our equipment and more importantly our health. I think everyone has learned from the experience and we will be back out there in October stronger than ever!"

The Prophecy and Honey For Christ have been stranded in Portugal after a major mechanical breakdown on the way to the Pontape na Canela Festival

The bands set off from their last Belgian show at Virton on tuesday night taking the back roads through france and arriving at Salamanca after 27 hours of solid driving. However the following morning on the trip to Vargos, the Cam Belt on the tourbus broke. The organisers of the festival came to the rescue coming to pick up the bands and the equipment from Fundao approx 2hrs away. However the next day the bands learned that the engine of the bus had been damaged beyond repair leaving them with no transport for them or their gear and no timescale on repairs with at least a 5000 Euro bill which will mean the vehicle will have to be written off with no way to claim on the insurance.

The bands are now currently stuck in Portugal as guests of Nemesis Musica and Vargos Council until flights can be arranged to get the bands back to the uk. However with the availability of flights being poor at the moment due to peak holiday times they have not been given a schedule for their return.

We await news of the bands safe arrival

The Prophecy unfortunately had to cancel their appearance at the frontline last nght. The band would like to apologise to anyone who travelled to the venue to find it closed.

Unfortunately the band discovered on their trip down to Dover that their tour bus insurance was invalid due to a administative error by the vehicle insurance company. Having been pulled over by the Police on the M1 motorway the band were advised not to enter Europe without correcting the mistake as the authorities in France would be likely to impound the vehicle and all the gear. Attempts were made to change the mistake however the insurance company's offices were closed due to it being Sunday. The band also attempted to get 24 H emergency cover however this only extended to 8 seater vehicles and so was not suitable for the tour bus.

Therefore band was forced to overnight in Canterbury. The mistake has now been corrected however and the tour continues with the next gig at Arlon.

Things are hotting up for The Prophecy this year. The band can now announce that they have been confirmed for not one but two festival appearances this year already.

The first of these appearances will be at the premier Irish festival THE DAY OF DARKNESS where the band will be on the bill with the likes of Candlemass, Entombed, Sabbat and Skyforger.

The second is in August when ther band will travel down to Portugal with Irish Metallers Honey For Christ for the Pontape Na Canela Festival, making a short tour of portugal and france on the way down.

Also in the works is a full European tour with Dutch band In Age and Sadness in late October taking in the UK, Germany, France, Belgium and Holland and also a two date UK event in November with Belgium Doom Metallers Insanity Reigns Supreme.

At some point in all this touring the band plan to try and get in the studio to record their third opus 'Into The Light' which in related news THE PROPHECY are once again on the scrounge for artwork! Having been blessed by two fantastic artists Gary Griffiths and Alex Pietjoux (skyland productions) for our 'Ashes' and 'Revelations' album the band hope to make it third time lucky.So interested parties get in touch. Theres a fair while to go before the album is ready but we can furnish you with concepts and ideas and obviously a rough copy of the tracks.
